| The Carre scarf symbolizes Herms. The French word for “square,” Herms has continued to release silk prints with elaborate designs reminiscent of paintings for many years. All of the original Carre prints created in the past are still preserved at the headquarters atelier, and they are often revived. The item newly arrived this time is inspired by the adventures of Sir Ernest Shackleton, the British explorer who led three Antarctic expeditions in his lifetime. This piece depicts the astonishing encounters and discoveries in Antarctica, then an entirely unknown world, in a scroll-like design. The artistic appeal of the Carre never fails to captivate, regardless of the era. |
